'This guy never stops working': Borussia Dortmund star Sebastien Haller hints desire to reunite with Ten Hag

Borussia Dortmund forward Sebastien Haller has indicated that he might want to reunite with Erik ten Hag in the near future and indebted much of his success to the Man United manager.

In an interview with The Athletic, he said: “West Ham was challenging but I learned a lot, It was a nice experience even if I left after 18 months. It was way too short but I had to make a decision. I could stay on the bench and not be useful, but even if I play I’m probably not the right man for the team, or go somewhere with someone I know (Ten Hag).

“Ten Hag really invests his time and energy into getting the best out of his team. This is England and Manchester United, people don’t even want to know what is going on behind the scenes — they just want results.

“When I was in Utrecht, he was my neighbour. This guy never stops working. This is the only thing he does and he wants to do it well. You need to adapt to your environment and I’m sure he will do some good things — he already has. I wish him all the best. Thanks to him, I could succeed.”

The 29-year-old was the Ivory Coast’s hero in the recently-concluded AFCON 2024, scoring two goals – including one in the final to clinch the championship.

Haller has only been able to make 14 appearances and score two goals for Dortmund this season and even though Man United could sign a new striker in the summer, it remains to be seen if his style fits for the club.
