'Touch and go': Gareth Southgate provides pessimistic Luke Shaw update

Speaking to the media earlier this week, Gareth Southgate said: "Luke Shaw touch and go for the Euros? Well, we'd have to say yes is the answer.

"The timelines would suggest he'll only be available in the dying embers of the season. You don't know what version of the player you're going to get.

"We might have everybody that’s currently injured back and available but we don't how match fit and how robust they will be to get through a tournament."

Shaw is currently sidelined with his second major injury of the 2023/24 season, forcing Erik ten Hag to experiment with the left-back position.

The 28-year-old muscle injury is threatening not only Manchester United but also the player's chances of making the England Euro 2024 squad.
