Mainoo stuns in first England start, gains loud applause from Wembley crowd

Kobbie Mainoo had an eventful first start for England in their 2-2 draw to Belgium on Tuesday (March 26).

He looked really sharp in the midfield trio consisting of him, Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham.

Mainoo played a key role in helping earn his side a penalty in the first half. He showcased some slick movement to outwit some Belgian players before playing it to Bellingham, who played in Ivan Toney to earn the penalty he converted.

After that, the Man United star helped keep up the energy levels in midfield and linked up really nicely with his teammates.

He also came close to scoring his first England goal, but had a smart effort saved in the second half.

Mainoo's impressive performance saw him create two chances, complete 42/47 passes, make two tackles and four ball possession recoveries.

He was substituted in the 74th minute and earned a loud round of applause from the Wembley crowd, with the teenager now looking set to make the England squad for Euro 2024.
