'Maybe there will be a new manager': Michael Owen explains how Sancho can rescue his Man United career

Speaking to Bulinews.com, Michael Owen said: "Manchester United invested a lot of money in Jadon Sancho. They don't want to see that asset just fall away. They've sent him back to his second home in the hope that he can rekindle that fire and that performance.

"Things change quickly in football. Maybe by the end of the season things will have changed at Man United. Maybe there will be a new manager, a new set-up and Sancho can potentially come back to the club and have a fresh start, which might be nice for him.

"At the moment it looks like it would be difficult for him to try and force his way back in at Man United. But now that he is back at Borussia Dortmund, I think it could all work out well for Jadon if his performances get back to the level that we all know he can play at."

Sancho had a massive falling out with Erik ten Hag earlier this season, leaving on a six-month loan for Borussia in the January transfer window.

Man United will assess the 24-year-old's future at the end of the season, right around the point with Ten Hag's position at Old Trafford will be decided.
