'He can make more of an effort': Robbie Fowler explains how Bruno could've helped prevent Chelsea winner

Speaking about the manner in which Man United conceded the final goal to Chelsea in the 4-3 loss, Robbie Fowler told Premier League Productions: “They're waiting for someone maybe on the side, the manager or coaches, to make the decision for them.

“That moment [Chelsea's corner in the 90+11 minute of the game] was screaming for someone [from the United team] to take charge.

“'You've got the captain of Manchester United [Bruno Fernandes] who is on the front post and he probably can't get out, but he can make more of an effort to get out there and close the space down for Cole Palmer to shoot.

“But I think it's in keeping with Manchester United. They have lacked leaders this season and that is a classic example of Manchester United.”

Fernandes actually had a great game against Chelsea, scoring a sweet header and also creating a number of chances. However, he could’ve probably positioned his teammates better and urged whoever closest to Cole Palmer to mark him and deny that poor final goal.

The Portuguese midfielder has only been able to inspire Man United to win one Premier League game against the traditional top-4 sides (Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea) this season – with two more remaining – including the upcoming one against Liverpool.
