Kobbie Mainoo has been one of the undeniable standouts for Man United in what has been a frustrating 2023/24 season.
The Englishman has performed at a high level all season long, having scored three goals in 22 appearances and also gotten his breakthrough to the England senior team.
Now, as per Fabrizio Romano, Ineos is aiming to make Mainoo one of the faces of their long-term project at Old Trafford.
The hierarchy is optimistic about a new contract for the Englishman and discussions are progressing on that behalf too.
Mainoo’s current contract is valid until June 30, 2027, so this isn’t an urgent thing to resolve. However, Man United’s higher-ups want the youngster to receive a more lucrative wage package and make him feel wanted after his breakthrough campaign.
That is why they are prioritizing handing him a new and improved contract soon to ward off interest from any potential clubs.
