'I left the ground on crutches': Ryan Giggs reveals how he reacted to THAT FA Cup winner against Arsenal

Ryan Giggs scored one of the best goals in FA Cup history for Man United in the memorable 2-1 FA Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal in the 1998/99 season.

He flew through almost half the Arsenal squad to score an incredible 109th-minute winner to help his side get to the final.

Reminiscing about how he had reacted to that sensational goal after the game, Giggs told The Athletic: "I left the ground on crutches.

"I thought my season was over. As I was getting on the bus, a reporter asked me: ‘Was that the greatest goal you ever scored?

"In my head, I was 30 yards out and I had beaten only a couple of players. It wasn’t until I got home, watching it on the news, that I realised I was that far out and that I’d beaten that many players."

Giggs definitely scripted himself into the Man United history books after that goal which helped the Red Devils take one step closer to winning the FA Cup title that season.

Man United fans will hope that someone can produce something similar in the upcoming semi-final against Coventry City to help Erik ten Hag reach the FA Cup final for the second straight season.
