Revealed: 2 managers 'leading race' to manage Man United (reliability: 4 stars)

According to Rich Fay via Manchester World, a tier-two source, Graham Potter and Roberto De Zerbi are the two 'leading candidates' to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United if the opportunity presents itself.

De Zerbi, who has turned Brighton into a formidable outfit, could cost a cool £15 million in compensation fees to his current club.

Potter would be a cheaper option as he's without a job since leaving Chelsea. He's also admired by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, who reportedly wished to hire him as manager for their Ligue 1 side Nice.

Ten Hag is walking a tightrope right now with the growing pressure of a sack ahead of a crucial FA Cup semi-final tie with Championship side Coventry City.

The problem? Well, Man United are winless since the end of March and even had a woeful outing in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

They crashed out of the Champions League in the group stages and have also failed to finish among the top four Premier League spots.

All eyes will be on Ten Hag when Man United face Coventry; the result could either save his job or lead to a bitter exit.
