Man United told Ten Hag still needs more time

Mikael Silvestre has told Manchester United to back Erik ten Hag, insisting the Dutch manager needs more time to create a proper team at Old Trafford.

He told BettingExpert: "When you talk about control it's about the entire team. For ten Hag to get Man United to where they need to be it will require more time for the players to get that balance and control. It takes time."

Carragher sends Onana warning to PL clubs

Jamie Carragher has warned Premier League clubs to stay away from Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, who has been linked with Man United.

He told Sky Sports: "Onana came in with a huge reputation. There was talk of him going to other big clubs. I don't see it. I haven't since he's been there. I don't know what he is. Is he a holding midfield player? Does he get forward? The only thing I have seen him do is try to lift the crowd."

Ratcliffe could miss FA Cup semi-final

According to the Daily Express, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's participation in the London Marathon on April 21 may prevent him from attending the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City later that day.

The marathon starts at 10am while Man United kick off at 3.30pm at Wembley. Ratcliffe, 72, took four hours and 32 minutes to complete the marathon last year. Assuming he does so this time as well, that leaves him only an hour to recover and make it to Wembley before the match.

Old Trafford redevelopment begins

Lord Sebastian Coe, who is the Chair of the Old Trafford redevelopment task force, has shared an update on plans for the big move after a series of high-level meetings.

Quoted by Man United, he said: "Yesterday, I chaired the first meeting of the Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force to kick off a conversation about how development of a world-class football stadium for the north of England can deliver social and economic benefits for the region. "At the London 2012 Olympics, I saw first-hand how sport can be a powerful driver of urban regeneration and I am excited to be part of this project. "This meeting marked the start of a multi-stakeholder process to explore options for the stadium and surrounding area. "We are at the start of this journey, and it is too soon to know where it will lead. But we will consult closely with fans and local residents along the way, and keep everyone informed of progress."
