'I'd never gamble with a player's fitness': Ten Hag provides injury update on Licha Martinez

It was confirmed before the Arsenal game that Lisandro Martinez is still not in contention for the Red Devils despite appearing in team training earlier this week.

Speaking about the defender, Erik ten Hag said: "He is desperate to play. The team has missed him. He wants to play but has had three injuries across the season. He's injury-free now and has to get back into the team.

"I'd never gamble with a player's fitness. It's about them and their futures. That is the most important thing. I have to take responsibility for it. The health of the players is always of high importance."

Licha has missed six months of action through various injuries this season, making only 11 appearances for Man United.
