FA Cup referee appointed

Andy Madley will be taking charge of the Manchester City vs Manchester United FA Cup final clash at Wembley on Saturday, it has been confirmed.

The 40-year-old official has so far refereed just nine games involving the Red Devils across all competitions with a record of six wins and three defeats.

Yorke wants key duo to start on Saturday

Dwight Yorke has called on Erik ten Hag to start Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford against Man City, believing it will a boost for Man United.

He told Tribal Football: "Man City are very vulnerable down the sides. You want those centre-backs to be coming out into wide areas and go one-on-one with the likes of Garnacho and Rashford. City are good on the ball but, defensively, they're only good in numbers. They're not really good one-on-one. So that would be an area that I would try to exploit."

McNeill confirms he will leave Man Utd

Charlie McNeill has confirmed he will leave Man United as a free agent upon the expiry of his contract next month.

The FA Youth Cup winner of 2022, who lifted the trophy with Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, wrote on Instagram: "Thanks to all the coaches, staff, fans and everyone involved at the club for the best 4 years ever, from joining the club to winning the FA Youth Cup to then making my first team debut at 18.

"That was my dream come true and I will be forever grateful for getting that opportunity and living my dream of playing at the Theatre of Dreams for my boyhood club which I can thank the manager for."

Hojlund, Garnacho preview FA Cup final

Garnacho told MUTV: "Everyone’s dream is to win trophies. I won my first one last season (the Carabao Cup), my first season also. So it would be very special to win another one."

Rasmus Hojlund also added: "It’s [FA Cup] the oldest knockout competition ever. I think it has a special place in the history of United, but also the English community.

"I think it’s a very, very special cup and I think it’s something that you definitely can be very, very proud of, if you win. And then, of course, there’s the loop for (qualifying for) Europe as well, which is quite important."
