Guardiola suggests Ten Hag outsmarted him tactically in FA Cup final 

Pep Guardiola says his game plan went horribly wrong in Saturday's FA Cup final defeat against Man United. 

“You plan a game for the oppositions, but it didn’t work," he admitted. “That was that.

"Even with that, we arrived two or three times in final third with the byline and crosses for nothing. They make a one shot, [we gave] the goal away and the goal from Mainoo, no more than that.

“We had control and normally we create, but in the second half we were not able to do it.”

Erik ten Hag surprisingly deployed Bruno Fernandes as a false nine, as United packed central areas. The Reds were quick on the counter and capitalized on City's defensive lapses.
