Sir Alex Ferguson was in attendance at Wembley Stadium on Saturday as Man United beat the ‘noisy neighbours’ Man City in a memorable FA Cup final.
Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring on 30 minutes as a mix-up between Josko Gvardiol and Stefan Ortega allowed him to tap home into an empty net. Ten minutes later, United made it two as Kobbie Mainoo finished a well-worked move.
Unsurprisingly, City rallied after the interval with Jeremy Doku on target but United never seemed to be in great danger and won the FA Cup for the first time since 2016.
The full-time whistle was met with jubilant scenes from those of a United persuasion but it was much more relaxed in the mixed zone at Wembley Stadium following the trophy lift.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ferguson shared a brief handshake, before the legendary former manager was seen with Avram Glazer, declaring the result: "Fantastic."
