Liverpool managed to get three points against Nottingham Forest, even though the opponents managed to find an equaliser twice in the second half.
The Reds were a dominant side on the pitch throughout the game. They ended the game with an 81% ball possession share but had little to show for it in open play.
Instead, they created most of their chances - including all three goals - through set pieces, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson providing some excellent opportunities.
Liverpool ended the game with five big chances created, while Forest registered only one.
Diogo Jota who grabbed a brace also registered the biggest chance that was not converted when he headed it wide from just a few yards out.
According to Sofascore, the Reds' xG was 2.87, a massive figure compared to Forest's 0.82 xG.
This means that a fair scoreline would've been a 3-1 win for Liverpool - which means that Nottingham Forest slightly overperformed today.
