Carvajal - 4, Vinicius - 7 & more: ranking Madrid players in Clasico loss

Madrid players who impressed against Barca:

Sergio Reguilon - 7/10

The 22-year-old could be proud of his first-ever Clasico as he has clearly edged over Marcelo at the left-back position. The defender neatly covered his wing and got also involved several times in the attack. In fact, Reguilon attempted one shot on target and was close to scoring a leveller in the second half.

Toni Kroos - 7/10

The German was the main engine of Real Madrid's midfield as he kept the ball and made several crucial tackles and recoveries, including the famous take which stopped Leo Messi from breaking free. Kroos created chances for Karim Benzema and Casemiro from the set-pieces and attempted one shot himself.

Karim Benzema - 7/10

The striker surprisingly moved deeper to link up with the wingers, however, this tactical switch benefitted the team and allowed Vinicius to have more freedom to break free and leave Barca defenders marvelling at his incredible pace. The Frenchman attempted one shot on target and won two aerial duels, however, his lethal header flew over the bar.

Vinicius - 7/10

At 18, the Brazilian destroyed the Barcelona defence four times and could have ended the first half with a brace at least. Unfortunately, his finishing skills need to be improved as soon as possible. In total, Vinicius attempted SIX shots - twice as much as all Barca players combined. He also provided three passes but was still unable to break the duck.

Madrid players who could have done better:

Dani Carvajal - 4/10

The defender didn't have his best night as he struggled to keep balance in the back-line. He got eventually outpaced by explosive Ousmane Dembele who set up Luis Suarez for the Blaugrana opener. Carvajal also registered a surprisingly low passing accuracy rate: just 81% of the accurate passes.

Lucas Vazquez - 5/10

The winger was solid at the back, however, he was hardly involved in Madrid's attacking movements. Even though Lucas completed 95% of his total passes, he failed to produce a single shot. The 27-year-old also registered a significant amount of the tactical fouls which eventually forced the referee to award him with a much-deserved booking.

Sergio Ramos - 5/10

It would be unfair to blame the captain for Real Madrid's defensive collapse in the second half as he seemingly suffered a disappointing knee injury at the beginning of the game after a collision with Casemiro. Nevertheless, he failed to recover his position which allowed Luis Suarez to open the scoring. Later, Ramos fouled Ivan Rakitic in the box which could possibly lead to a penalty call.

Other players ratings:

Keylor Navas - 6/10

Raphael Varane - 6/10

Casemiro - 5/10

Luka Modric - 5/10

Gareth Bale - 6/10
