City allegedly rule themselves out of Odegaard race

Manchester Evening News reject claims that Real Madrid's loanee Martin Odegaard could be on Manchester City's agenda. Apparently, Pep Guardiola has already plenty of attacking midfielders within the ranks.

Pep has recently lamented the fact that he is unable to give more opportunities to 19-year-old wonderkid Phil Foden: "He deserves to play. But it's Kevin De Bruyne there, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Gundogan, I'm so sorry."

No wonder the Odegaard potential transfer sounds rather unlikely. Still, the Norway international is allegedly wanted by Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico and Inter.

Even though Daily Mail have previously reported that Madrid have put a £62m price tag on the 20-year-old midfielder, it remains to be seen whether Odegaard is going anywhere in the near future. He is currently thriving at Real Sociedad after joining them this summer on the two-season loan deal.

Odegaard has already scored two goals and provided two assists this season. He also claimed the September Player of the Month award.

Meanwhile, according to Marca, Los Blancos have no intetion of selling Odegaard whatsoever. Florentino Perez, being the experienced businessman that he is, made sure that the Norwegian rising star stays a Madrid player. At least until 2023, that is. Marca say that Martin's renewed contract with Los Blancos includes a 350 million euros release clause for anyone interested.
