Eight Madrid players who are thriving under Solari

Alvaro Odriozola

Dani Carvajal's injury turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Real Madrid as it allowed talented youngster Alvaro Odriozola to show his worth. The right-back gets up and down his flank and acts as a true winger while joining the attack. Since Solari's appointment, the Basque has played all four games in full.

Sergio Reguilon

The 21-year-old has suddenly emerged as a regular at the left-back position. He demonstrated consistency, maturity, energy and a 'penetrative force going forward', as Jonas Perez puts it. He often joined the attack without leaving gaps in the defence. Unfortunately, he sustained a hamstring injury in the 4-2 win over Celta and will have to miss up to two weeks.

Thibaut Courtois

Looks like Santiago Solari is going to abolish the rotation policy between the two goalkeepers. The Belgian is now playing in both La Liga and Champions League while Keylor Navas only featured in the Copa del Rey fixture against the third-tier side Melilla. There is no place for Kiko Casilla at all, as it seems.

Vinicius

The 18-year-old is thriving under Santiago Solari who has learnt his skills perfectly during their time together in the Castilla team. He completed the full match against minnows Melilla, played around 20 minutes against Valladolid and was given even more playing time against Viktoria Plzen. The Brazilian has now made three assists and scored once for Blancos.

Lucas Vazquez

The 27-year-old was often overlooked by Julen Lopetegui while Santiago Solari keeps trusting in the versatile player even though he hasn't been at his best recently. His active attacking display was perfectly demonstrated against Melilla and in the final minutes of the hard-fought Valladolid win. Moreover, the right winger can play literally everywhere as he ended up as a left-back in the injury-plagued Celta match.

Javi Sanchez

Solari introduces more and more Castilla player into the first team. The youngster featured against Melilla and Viktoria Plzen, however, his true test arrived against Celta as he replaced injured Reguilon. The 21-year-old is good in the air and quick into the challenge, however, he could be somewhat reckless, just like Sergio Ramos himself.

Dani Ceballos

The midfielder has already started his progress with Julen Lopetegui's arrival, however, his successor is obviously preferring the 22-year-old to more experienced Isco and Marco Asensio. He completed the Viktoria Plzen match in full and was introduced in the challenging Celta match after Casemiro's early injury. He excelled at his position and scored a lovely goal from outside the box.

Karim Benzema

The Frenchman is the only attacking player to be included in Solari's every line-up. The Argentinean seems to have reinvented the misfiring striker as he has now scored four goals, made one assist and earned a penalty against Valladolid. Benzema is currently Real Madrid best goalscorer with 10 goals in all competitions so far this season.
