Odegaard breaks down his 'impossible' assist vs Alaves

Martin Odegaard is the definitely the player to watch for in La Liga, and not only because he is a Real Madrid player. After just two months at Real Sociedad, the 20-year-old got everyone in Spain talking about him.

The Norwegian has already been named La Liga player of the month for September and not for nothing with two assists and one goal helping La Real to three wins in four. Perhaps, his best performance came against Alaves where Martin assisted on Mikel Oyarzabal's goal with the pass of the season contender that cut at least a half of Alavas' team putting Oyarzabal through on goal.

The Norwegian has set down with Spanish football expert Guillem Balague to discuss this crazy assist and how he came up with it.

"Well, it all goes really quickly, so it's hard to describe. But it's just a moment when you see the space and you see the movement, and then you make the action," Martin said as cited by Dario AS.

"It all goes really quickly and you have to see it really fast. And the movement was good, and this space between the full-back and the centre-back is normally easy to attack for wingers. So I try to look for this space pretty often and yesterday it was a good moment, a good pass, and of course, a great run and a great finish," humbly concluded the 20-year-old.

Both fans and experts were amazed at this wonder-pass and Odegaard, of course, too felt that it was special.

"You feel it when you do something special and against Alaves it was a special pass, and a special goal," the midfielder added. "It was a great moment and maybe my best assist ever. So, of course, you feel it and it made me happy. I think the whole team needed the first goal and it was easier for us afterwards. So it was the perfect moment."

Martin is a starter for La Real and he helped the team to the 5th place in the table. The midfielder scored two goals against Atletico Madrid and Mallorca and made two assists during the matches against Alaves and Sevilla.

The midfielder has joined Real Sociedad on a one-year loan. However, Los Blancos reportedly retain the possibility to extend his loan for another season if they decide not to bring Odegaard back in the summer of 2020.
