Martin Odegaard was amazing against Valencia during the away 1-1 draw. Real Sociedad are sure glad that they've signed our youngster and the Norwegian can finally prove his worth in a serious tournament with Zinedine Zidane watching his performances. Odegaard was the standout performer on Saturday and Sociedad were happy to leave Mestalla with a point.
The youngster has recently joined Real Sociedad and spoken to Marca about his decision to sign for another La Liga team: "I had the Champions League and Europa League options but for me, the most important thing was to feel comfortable in my new team, with the coach, with the project.
"That's why I chose Sociedad. Madrid pressure? They obviously told me which clubs were interested but the decision was left to me. The idea is for two years. I have a contract with Real Madrid, I have extended it before coming here, and my goal is to play one day at Real Madrid. Of course, I dream of playing someday in Real Madrid.
"I needed to play and these years in Holland have been very good. Real Madrid watched my games closely. It's a big step to go playing Holland to Madrid, where it is very difficult because there are many very good players. Coming to the Sociedad can be a good step."
