Lucas Vazquez makes no secret of his admiration for Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos. The 28-year-old winger dubs El Capitano a great example for everyone on the team and highlights Sergio's competitive character.
"Sergio Ramos [is the most challenging player I've faced]," Lucas Vazquez said, as quoted by Marca.
"Because of his competitive character, and because he is the best of the world in his position.
"He is very intense in the day to day. He is an example for all the players, and he is the captain he always shows [that he is]."
El Capitano has recently turned 34 but there's still no news of his contract extension. As a reminder, Sergio's current contract will be running out in June 2021.
While Sergio has always made it clear that he hopes to finish his playing days at Madrid, the current coronavirus crisis complicates things a bit.
Currently, Spain remain among the most afflicted countries with as many as 94,417 COVID-19 cases. The death toll has risen to 8,269 people, 553 of which died today, on March 31.
