4 strikers Real Madrid could go after in January as Benzema injury woes continue

Karim Benzema is still not 100 per cent fit to compete at his best level due to his frequent injuries. The latest report claims the French striker has some muscle discomfort after Monday's training.

Here are four other strikers Real Madrid could go after in January to cover for Big Benz:

Kevin Volland

The German striker would jump at the chance to move to Real Madrid in January. The 30-year-old has the experience and skill to succeed at a big club.

Volland stars for Monaco where he's been since 2020. He's so far registered 34 goals in 100 games. That's more than Madrid could ever get out of Luka Jovic.

Moussa Dembele

Los Blancos can find their quick-fix Benzema backup in France striker Dembele.

The 26-year-old would relish the opportunity to join forces with his countrymen in Spain and understudy Benzema.

Dembele is quick, can dribble and packs a powerful shot. Age is also on his side.

Marcus Thuram

The French striker is another player in fine form for his club. He's already registered 11 goals in just 14 games for Monchengladbach this season.

What's more, Thuram is young, full of energy and knows exactly where the goal is. Real Madrid may have a gem for the future if they get him.

Dusan Vlahovic

This is the most difficult of the lot but the Serbian striker will be a huge asset if Real Madrid were to get him in January.

Despite Juventus' poor form at the start of the season, Vlahovic has managed to register 8 goals this season.
