6 potential arrivals & 8 departures: Real Madrid's first 2023 transfer round-up

2023 could be a busy year for Real Madrid in terms of transfers. There will be a quiet January which is likely to be followed by a summer full of big news.

Potential arrivals

Jude Bellingham. The English midfielder is Madrid's top target for next summer. The club is ahead in the race for Bellingham, ready to pay €120m to acquire his services.

Alphonso Davies. The Canadian is seen as a player that could cover Madrid's left-back spot for years to come.

Fran Garcia. Madrid have a buyback clause on Garcia which they could activate next summer, with the club needing reinforcements at left-back.

Miguel Gutierrez. The La Fabrica graduate could return to Santiago Bernabeu after just one year at Girona. The club will pick between him and Fran.

Rafael Leao. Ancelotti is said to be a big fan of the Portuguese forward who is pushing for a summer exit from AC Milan.

Kylian Mbappe. The Merengues are ready to forgive Mbappe and make another attempt to bring the Frenchman to Spain's capital.

Potential departures

Nacho. Although the club is in favour of offering the centre-back a new deal, Nacho considers leaving as a free agent in the summer.

Eden Hazard. The 31-year-old is finally ready to accept that he's flopped at Real Madrid and considers leaving in search of more game time.

Toni Kroos. Despite the club's intention to keep him, Toni considers calling it quits at the end of the season when his deal expires.

Marco Asensio. With an expiring contract, it is still unclear whether Asensio will extend his deal or leave Bernabeu.

Alvaro Odriozola. The coach clearly does not count on Odriozola, giving him zero minutes so far. The right-back is the only player who could realistically be offloaded in January.

Dani Ceballos. The midfielder could leave on contract expiry in July.

Ferland Mendyv. Madrid have serious doubts about Ferland and consider putting him on the market.

Mariano. The club has no intention to extend the striker's expiring contract.
