Atletico Madrid are targeting Dani Ceballos for next summer, according to Spanish outlet ABC.
Ceballos has been Real Madrid's most improved player this year and has forced his way into becoming a first-team regular. He has so far started five of the last six games in La Liga. In all competitions, the Spaniard has recorded a goal and four assists in his 21 appearances.
However, the 26-year-old will become a free agent in the summer and is already free to negotiate with another club if he wants to.
Real Madrid are yet to offer fresh terms to Ceballos although there is a feeling around the club that they want to keep him.
Reports claim Ceballos prefers to stay in Spain rather than sign for a club abroad. That means there's a possibility that he joins Atletico if Real Madrid doesn't fight to keep him.
