According to multiple reports from Spain, Real Madrid have chosen to appoint Xabi Alonso as their manager next season.
Speaking to the press ahead of the Las Palmas game, current Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has addressed the rumours.
"I have coached Xabi, he’s doing a great job at Bayer”.
"He understands the game well, that’s why he’s a very good coach. I wish Xabi Alonso, Raul, Alvaro Arbeloa to become Madrid's manager one day. I love all of them."
Alonso is doing great job at Leverkusen, indeed. The German side are the Bundesliga joint leaders at the moment. They are yet to lose a game this campaign.
Ex-Galactico recently signed a new Bayer deal keeping him at the club until 2026, but a chance to take over Madrid could be too tempting to pass up.
