It would cost Real Madrid €15-18m to hire Xabi Alonso as their head coach next summer, reports Suddeutsche Zeitung.

This is the Spaniard's release clause at Bayer Leverkusen. He will leave the German club if it gets triggered.

Xabi Alonso is said to be the club's first-choice candidate to succeed Carlo Ancelotti next year. The current Real Madrid boss is expected to be the next manager of Brazil's national team.

Alonso is doing wonders at Bayer Leverkusen, leading them to 16 wins and just one draw in all competitions this season.

The 41-year-old played for Real Madrid from 2009 to 2014.
