Key Real Madrid player could be 'ruled out' for Napoli game

Luka Modric could be ruled out with a calf injury for Real Madrid's Champions League game against Napoli on Tuesday, per El Chiringuito's Jose Luis.

Modric was spotted receiving treatment after being substituted in Real Madrid's 3-0 defeat of Cadiz on Sunday.

According to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, there's optimism that Modric will recover on time to play the game but he has to undergo tests on Tuesday to see if it's something serious.

Real Madrid will be hoping that the midfielder has avoided any serious injury considering the alarming number of absentees the club are currently dealing with.

In midfield alone, Real Madrid are missing players like Tchouameni, Camavinga and Arda Guler. Adding Modric to that list would be inimical.
