Endrick has celebrated his latest goal for Palmeiras, imitating King Kong – something that was treated like a provocation by some opposition players.
The 17-year-old explained it after the game.
"They thought it was a provocation, but I managed to speak in Spanish to them. I like the [King] Kong movie, that's it, this is a gesture I make. I did it in the last game against Independiente, and it was received very well."
Earlier, some fans supposed this was the way of explaining that being black is normal and that even monkey comparisons can be a reason for pride. But no, everything seems much simpler.
Endrick scored one goal in Palmeiras' 5-0 win against Liverpool. He has netted four goals and delivered two assists in 18 appearances for the Brazilian side this season.
The forward will join Real Madrid this summer.
