I am not convinced that Sanches is a good deal. He is injured very often. Had nearly no game time at Bayern and Swansea (he already was 22/23 yrs). Now he had one good season at Lille and talks openly about wanting to go to Barcelona. I don't think he will be more than a suitable backup and for that he is quite expensive.

"Better than Messi, Neymar, Mbappe"? Really? Because he had one motm performance against them? He might be good, but playing in the Belgium league with 22 hardly makes you the next ballon d'Or winner. And we will only know whether he is good enough for a big league, when he played his first season. So, 30mil seems quite high.

In my opinion, you are pretty hard on Xhaka. His balls over the defense were always threatening and he link up very well with odegaard. All in all a very nice evening. Of course, it was a poor opposition but it definitely brings confidence for our attacking players.

Why is this even a story to be mentioned? "She gestured with one of her fingers"? And even if it was the middle one, she is not a public figure and has the right to be angry if someone verbally attacks her and her husband. So just let her gesture, this really doesn't harm or disrespect anyone (I guess the fan wasn't that respectful either).

Don't we still have AMN on our books somewhere? He did not have a loan spell like Joe, but made decent appearances on loan...why isn't he thought of as CM?

Last year we were moaning about David Luiz, Özil, Willian, now we need older players to be competitive? We had Leno, Luiz, Mari, Bellerin, Xhaka, Partey, Willian, Laca, Auba -- a lot of older players in or around the first XI. Still, it didn't work out. So, I don't think it's about age but quality. Most of them are still here btw. We need creativity and ruthlessness. The former might improve with recent transfers. I am not so sure about the latter, though.

Simple football and determination is enough. ESR the only bright spark, "our van dijk" nowhere near helping us (could have kept david luiz). Let's hope that after the next two defeats we can start the league in round 4 with some decent football.

yes, this is good news. letting him go for a low fee would be a shame. he is a very good player. Best case scenario we find an even better partner for partey and have him as a really good backup, but he is an experienced premier League player and a fighter. you can't let someone like that leave for under 30mio.

yes, nice idea. but varane is 28 and used to playing on the highest level. he won't go to a club who might get back to fight for titles in 2-4 years. It hurts, though, that we might be paying more for white (I would be really happy if this deal works out) than utd for varane.

Come on. If he has poor stats in defense, ok. But to judge him on one action is not serious. Then there must be a lot of very poor defenders in PL as saka gets the better of all of them at least once per match.
