Wenger: 'My heart is with the club. Freddie is fantastically committed'

Arsenal's legendary ex-manager Arsene Wenger had words of advice for Freddie Ljungberg, who's taken over from Unai Emery as an interim head coach.

"I'm always happy to help my former players and my former club," the Frenchman told Sky Sports News. "If he has that need then, of course, I will be available.

"My heart is with the club and I want them to do well. Freddie is fantastically committed. He wanted this job for a long time. He has an opportunity. Let's get him to work with his ideas and support him."

Arsene Wenger has managed Arsenal for 22 years, between 1996 and 2018, winning three league titles, seven FA Cups and going a full season unbeaten in 2004. He has now taken on the role of Chief of Global Football Development at FIFA.
