Arsenal will battle it out with Spurs for Willian's signature as both clubs prepare for lean transfer window: The Telegraph

It looks like Arsenal will indeed be on the lookout for swap deals and free agents after The Telegraph's Matt Law reported as much.

The correspondent believes the Gunners will be in a similar position to Spurs as the London clubs will slug it out for Willian's signature, whose contract expires this summer.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

The Brazilian has basically ruled out signing a new deal with Chelsea last week.

"It's a difficult situation because Chelsea offered me two years and they are not going to change what they offered. I said I wanted three more years," the winger told Brazilian outlet Esporte Interativo.

"The situation is difficult because of this. I really don't know if it will be possible [to stay]. My goal is to continue working and focus on the remainder of the season so that Chelsea can continue winning games.

"I have a clear head and I'm focused for the rest of the season that we have left. I think it's difficult [to stay]. Let's see what happens."

Like many other clubs, the Gunners will be looking to weather the storm caused by the global pandemic and this isn't the first time we are hearing reports that Arsenal will be strapped for cash.

They have introduced squad-wide pay cuts for a whole year and will be looking in angst over whether the next season will be held behind closed doors too, as the impact of it will be catastrophic.

We have looked at 3 other free agents from the Premier League Arsenal could be tempted to sign, as well as potential swap deals to navigate the difficult financial landscape. It's not all doom and gloom, we promise!
