'Arteta effect'. Only 2 Premier League fanbases feel more optimistic about 2020-21 season than Arsenal - survey

If you have been around the Arsenal fanbase long enough, then you know it's a tough bunch to keep happy and optimistic. So when Sky Sports did a survey ahead of the new season which indicated 97 per cent of fans are exactly that, we just couldn't let it slide.

That's right, boys and girls, 97 per cent. Only 2 clubs (Southampton and Chelsea, at 99% and 98% respectively) are higher-placed. We assume the Saints are happy with their final league charge and Ralph Hasenhuttl's management; the latter are probably ecstatic about the Blues' spending spree.

As for Arsenal, well... We call the "Mikel Arteta effect". The Spaniard exudes confidence and determination, his team looks well-drilled and some of the transfer dominoes have already fallen into place.

Sure, it's not the most exciting transfer window Arsenal have ever had, but it feels like the Gunners are addressing the problems they have: competition for the inconsistent Nicolas Pepe, reinforcements at centre-back, tying Aubameyang down to a new deal.

Arsenal are also moving behind the scenes to become a more efficient organisation. Raul Sanllehi has been shown the door, a new set-piece specialist was brought in to address a major weakness and Mik Arteta himself has been promoted to first-team manager. Now all that's left is plugging the midfield hole with either Thomas Partey or Houssem Aouar (or both!)

Anyway, enjoy the good times. The table measuring the fans' happiness is below. Poor West Ham supporters.
