Arsenal's concrete interest in Houssem Aouar will have to be finalised by Friday in one way or another - Lyon's president Aulas and sporting director Juninho stated as much when talking about possible departures.
"We know that things could happen between now and Monday. It is not ideal. We have to adapt. I think by Friday we will have all the answers." Juninho said.
"We could see ourselves lose 2 players. We know that three big clubs are interested in Aouar, for example. 2 in the short-term, 1 in the long-term. Not much has happened. All the clubs can’t give us financially what Lyon wants. From Friday evening, when Rudi will choose his squad vs Marseille, there will be no departures," Aulas chipped in.
It does sound like both senior figures are pretty much resigned to losing Aouar and are trying to keep a straight face for now. However, the purchase of Lucas Paqueta from AC Milan is something of a giveaway as he too is a central midfielder.
Lyon face Marseille at home on Sunday evening, so we guess a look at their squad then will tell us everything we need to know about Aouar. Fingers crossed here, God knows we need another midfield addition.
