Laca and Auba finished the Premier League with 13 and 10 goals respectively. Is it the right time to sell either of them and buy a replacement? We asked you what Arsenal should do with Auba and Laca in the summer. Here are some of the most interesting replies.
💭 Gunner1979: "These two are one of deadliest & most lethal pair of strikers in the EPL!! The problem lies with the supply line, we screwed ourselves up by not playing Ozil or ESR earlier and when the goals dried up, we start blaming Auba & Laca.
"Remember Auba single-handedly shouldered the burden for 2 years and Laca became lethal again with ESR & Odegaard’s supply line of ammunition. We should really allocate the funds wisely. Cannot understand why are we linking with 20+ players and confuse ourselves?
"Aston Villa was 4th from bottom last season, narrowly escaped relegation; made only 3 notable changes (Martinez/Watkins/loaned Ross Barkley from Chelsea and they improved by 7 positions ending the season at 11th place! A remarkable achievement, isn't it?"
💭 David Omabukodo: "I can't witness another of Auba's below-par performances next season. Please, that guy should go and look for a cash cow elsewhere. After all, so far, he won his major trophy at Arsenal. It's time to take a bow. The worst captain I have ever seen in an Arsenal jersey."
💭 Mark Kennedy Dwayne: "The arrival of a new manager/coach will bring the best out of them because he will make them two feel unsettled and that will force competition among them two that was missing from day one.
"Letting Aubameyang go will be the best idea. LACAZETTE need to be given the same chance as Aubameyang received and Aubameyang is too poor in one on one against defenders.
"We need to be a little physical upfront and that is Lacazette. Balogun can help us forget Aubameyang quickly. If Aubameyang and Xhaka leave, it will wake our boys and we will see Pepe and Martinelli stepping up to lead in goal scoring."
💭 Wale Asifat: "It’s tough to comment on these two guys cuz Auba have done so much in the last couple of years but had a very bad season. Lacazette, on the other hand, stepped in this year and he did some amazing stuff but honestly, we need a great striker that can do 20-30 goals if we must get to the🔝.
"Hence I think we need a new prolific striker. We’ve got to sell one of them, and normally the club won’t want to sell the captain except he says he wants to go. So I’ll say let’s sell Lacazette but a fantastic striker, with Auba and Martinelli we can have a great season."
