Buendia signs for Aston Villa - details of deal revealed

Aston Villa have beaten Arsenal to the signature of Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City.

The Villains have paid £33m to the Canaries to make Buendia their record signing.

Buendia will earn £80,000-per-week at Villa next season.

The Argentine midfielder scored an impressive 15 goals and 17 assists to help Norwich City win the Championship this season.

The 24-year-old was also named Norwich Player of the Season.

Buendia has already passed a medical which was conducted from his base in Argentina.

At this point, it remains unclear why Buendia chose Villa ahead of Arsenal given the Gunners were frontrunners to sign the playmaker. However, there are reports that former Gunner Emi Martinez helped convince Buendia to join.
