'He's been abysmal since West Ham': Arsenal fans have major questions over Bukayo Saka's new contract

Arsenal's 2022/23 Premier League title hopes are over following the 3–0 defeat against Brighton at home on Sunday.

Bukayo Saka had another disappointing game amid reports that the young star is on the verge of signing a £300,000-a-week-deal.

Some Arsenal supporters argue whether the new contract — which is expected to be announced before the end of the season — is good for the club.

COYG17 (via /r/Gunners): "He's been meh for at least a third of the season and. Saka has been good but in terms of PL title challenging wingers he has flopped so far (Mahrez head above). He has a lot to prove next year."

gunningIVglory: "Of course we need him. We have such shallow squad depth. Look at how he killed us. Saka needs some competition"

BalticKnight3000: "Saka has been abysmal since the West Ham game. Dude stops when he has a chance to play 1vs1 and waits until second defender joins so he can then rightfully get rid of the ball. I don't see why we should pay him big money right now."

standupforthechamp: "I do wonder what the reaction will be for Saka bagging a £300k contract within the dressing room. He has had a stinker of a month and the likes of Odegaard and Saliba will be rightly demanding similar for extending their contracts."

R_110: "Saka has had minimal impact for the last third of the season. Honestly think this team gave up once they saw the Everton score."
