Anthony Taylor named as referee for Man City clash, his record for Arsenal matches revealed

The Premier League has confirmed that Anthony Taylor will be the referee to oversee the Arsenal vs Man City clash at the weekend.

Jarred Gillett has also been named as the VAR official for what is expected to be a hotly-contested match between Premier League title contenders.

Taylor has overseen 43 matches for Arsenal in the Premier League so far in his career, in which the Gunners have won 24 times. In the matches he’s refereed, Arsenal have lost eight times and drawn 11 games.

The English referee was the official for the Gunners’ win over Liverpool and Man United in the Premier League this season, in which he dished out a total of eight yellow cards.

Interestingly, Taylor has overseen 33 Premier League matches for Man City and they have come out as winners on 18 of those occasions.

Arsenal fans will only hope that the official is absolutely impartial and doesn’t grant the Cityzens any extra favors at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
