Arsenal 'end' interest in Toney - fans don't want Isak or Osimhen either

Arsenal’s interest in Ivan Toney has now waned, according to English journalist John Cross who says it is "highly unlikely he will sign for the Gunners this summer."

"Neither will Alexander Isak," he added. Arsenal monitored the player when he went to Newcastle, but no longer retain an interest - especially not at the mooted £120m price.

Reacting to the development, Arsenal fans have urged the club to also forget about signing Victor Osimhen as Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus could get the job done.

🗣️Marcos: "Havertz is excellent #9. Martinelli is yet to be discovered, I believe he's the next Suarez. Jesus can play anywhere in the front. No need for another striker unless he's generational."

Umar D Mohammed: "Isak is too expensive and Toney is more or less like Jesus."

🗣️Dau'd: "Just because we paid £100m+ for Rice doesn't mean we'll let clubs charge us over the odds for other players".

🗣️Sakanelli: "Isak is injury prone anyway. Osimhen is injury-prone and unreliable. Gyokeres is unproven in a top5 league. That leaves Toney and Watkins who are close to 30yrs. I think it better we go for a prolific wing-forward like a Salah/Sanchez/Mbappe/Madrid's Ronaldo-esque player".

🗣️Tom: "Isak - injury prone. Toney - just no."

Arsenal were expected to sign a striker in January but Mikel Arteta showed faith in Kai Havertz. The German repaid his manager's trust with eight goals and six assists since the turn of the year.
