Chelsea to provide accommodation for NHS staff amid coronavirus outbreak in London

As confirmed via Chelsea's official website, the Blues have joined the medical response to the outbreak of coronavirus in London by making the Millenium Hotel at Stamford Bridge available to the National Health Service (NHS) personnel as local accommodation.

The initiative to help the government medical staff came from club owner Roman Abramovich after chairman Bruce Buck initially made contact with the NHS to join the fight against the pandemic.

This has been done keeping in mind that the medical personnel are working long shifts late into the night to combat the crisis and making the hotel available for stay rids them of the hassle of travelling long distances.

The authorities at Stamford Bridge fully understand that the health and well-being of the medical personnel are of paramount importance at the moment and all the rooms in the hotel could be given over for this noble purpose.

This initiative from the Blues will continue over the next two months and then reconsidered in the light of circumstances at the time, with Abramovich reportedly prepared to bear all the expenses.
