Chelsea are among three Premier League clubs which are ready to accelerate their interest in Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey after his match-winning display against Cologne, according to the Daily Mail - a rather average British source.
Leverkusen beat Cologne 3-1 on Wednesday with the Jamaica international providing two assists to keep his side in the Bundesliga top-4 race.
The 22-year-old has long been mentioned as a target for the Blues but Chelsea will have to withstand the competition from Man United and Man City for his services, as per the Mail's report.
As aforementioned clubs remain linked with Jadon Sancho, they also view Bailey as a cheaper alternative to the Borussia Dortmund winger.
BVB are set to demand £115m for the Englishman while Bayer value Leon at around £40m.
Bailey could also be deployed as an attacking midfielder so he could potentially be an alternative to another target of Chelsea and his Leverkusen teammate Kai Havertz.
The Jamaican has scored 24 and set up 15 goals in 111 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit since joining the club from Genk in 2017.
