Guardian: Inter ready to launch summer bid for Emerson, parties in disagreement over transfer fee

According to The Guardian, Antonio Conte is eyeing a reunion with Emerson at Inter. The Serie side have opened formal talks with Chelsea and are now weighing up a bid.

The report says the Italian outfit are set to offer around £18m, but the Blues are likely to reject it and demand a larger fee.

The 25-year-old is not a guaranteed starter now. At the beginning of the season, he played regularly but then gradually slipped down Frank Lampard's pecking order.

The left-back is keen to get more playing time to raise his chances to get a place in the Italy squad for Euro 2020, which was postponed for next summer.

The Brazilian-born Italian moved to Stamford Bridge from Roma for a reported fee of £17.6m in January 2018. His current contract runs until 2022 and as per Transfermarkt, his current market price is estimated at £21.6m.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are targetting Ben Chilwell as a priority left-back target. However, Leicester's huge aking price of at least £75m could be a major barrier to a transfer. The Blues are linked with Alex Telles and Nicolás Tagliafico as alternatives to the expensive defender.

According to the recent ESPN report, Everton's Lucas Digne has been added to that list.

The full-back scored some really important goals for Chelsea:
