“Nine years ago, when I was playing for the reserves at Boulogne and made my professional debut in Ligue 2, I was very hungry and very hopeful in football," N'Golo Kante said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
"I didn’t know how far I could go; I just wanted to turn pro and do my best.
"Today I’m with Chelsea and to be lucky enough to play in a Champions League, bearing in mind everything that’s happened in the meantime, is amazing”.
N'Golo Kante made his professional debut for Boulogne at the age of 21, on May 18, 2012 - one day before Chelsea won their first Champions League trophy in Munich.
Nine years later, N'Golo is a World Cup winner who is all but certain to start in the biggest game of his club career this Saturday when the Blues take on Man City.
