Fan suggests theory explaining why Livramento & other top Academy talents want to leave Chelsea

Academy stars Valentino Livramento, Lewis Bate and Myles Peart-Harris are reportedly looking to leave Chelsea despite the club offering them improved contracts.

And according to a fan nicknamed twroncon, the club's loan system is the reason behind these young stars' decision to part ways with the Blues.

"I would imagine they don’t want to end up like Chelsea loanees of the past, going out on loan six or seven times and not finding a permanent place until they’re 26-27," twroncon wrote on Reddit.

"We’ve seen it happen before and people that point to Mason Mount and Reece James, I think those two in particular were right place, right time with the ban.

"Too many players have been continuously sent out on loan, working their way into a manager's plan only for that manager to be replaced and they’re right back to the start.

"We’ve not really seen academy players do what the ones now are doing - backing themselves to impress at a Premier League side, but as permanent players.

"I would imagine constantly going out on loan brings much more uncertainty. With Guehi at Palace, he now knows he’s there for a few years, he can settle and play his best football without having to worry about where he will be next season.

"I actually applaud the lads making this decision. Again, it’s showing that they’re betting on themselves to perform in what won’t always be the ideal situation.

"If they prove good enough, there’s every chance they’ll end up back at Chelsea anyway!"

Chelsea 'on verge' of losing Livramento & 2 other top academy talents to Premier League clubs: The Athletic

As per The Athletic, 3 of Chelsea's top academy stars, Valentino Livramento, Lewis Bate and Myles Peart-Harris could leave the club soon.

All 3 of them have only one year left on their remaining deals and are reportedly refusing to sign extensions.

Bate is one of the most highly-rated midfielders in the country and 5 Premier League clubs, including West Ham and Liverpool, have expressed interest in signing him.

While Chelsea have offered him a strong deal, but Bate’s primary concern is 'the chance of first-team football in the future rather than financial gain'.

The report adds that some coaches consider Bate even better than Billy Gilmour at the age of 18.

The other 2 prospects face similar situations and are concerned over their development and playing time at Chelsea as Peart-Harris is close to moving to Brentford.

Livramento, a right wing-back, was the Academy Player of the Year - he also faces a long time on the sidelines as Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James are ahead of him in the pecking order.

Chelsea have already sold homegrown defenders Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi this summer, with these academy stars also possibly leaving.

Chelsea under pressure to keep Academy Player of the Year Livramento amid interest from 5 clubs - Goal (reliability: 5 stars)

Chelsea are under pressure to keep their Academy Player of the Year Tino Livramento whose contract expires in a year, according to Goal.

The 18-year-old right-back has already attracted interest from the likes of Aston Villa, AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Southampton and Brighton.

Chelsea hope to convince Livramento to stay and sign a new deal. However, the club's pursuit of a new right wing-back might force him to explore other options, even though they are likely to miss out on their first-choice target Achraf Hakimi.

Livramento was awarded the Academy Player of the Year prize for his performances across the last two seasons: the youngster has registered four goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances for the youth teams.

Previous winners of that award include Mason Mount, Billy Gilmour, Conor Gallagher, Fikayo Tomori and Reece James.
