Chelsea might see Club World Cup moved to 2022 as FIFA continues new host country search

The FIFA Club World Cup might be moved from its usual slot in December to next year after Japan has withdrawn as the competition's host, ESPN reports.

Now, the tournament that involves champions of each continental confederation is likely to take place in February.

Chelsea will participate in this Club World Cup edition as the Champions League winners.

Other confirmed participants are African champions Al Ahly from Egypt and Oceania representatives Auckland City from New Zealand.

Chelsea are yet to lift that trophy: in 2012, they were beaten by Corinthians in the final.
