Chilwell, Loftus-Cheek & more: 6 players Tuchel has used the least so far this season

Chelsea have one of the best squads in the league, with depth available at nearly every position.

Thomas Tuchel has used the squad well for the most part, with only 3rd-choice keeper Marcus Bettinelli and youngster Xavier Mbuyamba yet to see any minutes at all.

There are still a number of players that have played fewer minutes than was expected. Here's a look at 6 of the least used players.

Ross Barkley

No other player in the senior squad has played fewer minutes than Barkley who has made 3 substitute appearances amounting to just 39 minutes.

He was instrumental after coming on against Southampton, however, and could see his playing time increase in the coming weeks.

Malang Sarr

Malang Sarr made one start in the Carabao Cup and played the entire 90 minutes as Chelsea managed to secure a win.

The emergence of Trevoh Chalobah among other factors, has ensured that Sarr hasn't played in either of the major competitions for the Blues yet.

Saul Niguez

Hasn't been an ideal start to his Chelsea career for Saul Niguez, who after an abysmal debut, has only managed to rack up 120 minutes in total.

The Spaniard seems to have fallen quite low on the pecking order especially with the possible re-emergence of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Loftus-Cheek can only boast of 217 minutes of playing time this season, with the Englishman barely in contention for most of the season.

However, he could move off of this list soon, considering that he's been picked to come on in big games like Man City and that he started and impressed against Southampton.

Ben Chilwell

Chilwell is the big surprise name on this list, having firmly established himself in the starting XI by the end of last season.

However, thanks to his struggles after being left on the bench at the Euros, he has managed just 2 starts and 233 minutes of playing time. Needs to up his game.

Christian Pulisic

The young American has once more been hindered by injury for most of the season. Even during the times he has been available though, the likes of Havertz and Mount have been preferred more than him.

Pulisic has a measly 159 minutes to his name and needs to come back ready to fight for his place once more.
