Conor McGregor confirms he's serious about making a bid for Chelsea

UFC star Conor McGregor has insisted that he was not joking when he said that he was exploring the possibility of making a bid for Chelsea.

"I do not speak in jest," he tweeted in a response to one of the stories.

"I am exploring this, as I said.

"Celtic from Dermot Desmond, Manchester United from the Glaziers, and now the recently up for sale Chelsea football club. All being explored.

"A football franchise purchase is in my future make no mistake about it"

Previously, he went on social media to make a cheeky £1.5bn bid for Chelsea.

Sky Sports, however, claims that McGregor is preparing a more substantial offer and is negotiating with a 'major global asset management company' to raise the money required.
