Xavi’s Barcelona on course to break 19-year-old Mourinho Chelsea record

Barcelona are on track to beat all clean sheet records set in Europe’s top-five leagues, with them sitting currently joint third among the 8 teams to have kept 23 or more in the 21st century.

Top among the records list sits the one achieved by Jose Mourinho in his debut season at Chelsea in the 2004/05 campaign.

The Blues emphatically ousted reigning champions Arsenal that Premier League season by 12 points, blanking the opponents 25 times in the process.

Petr Cech was responsible for 24 of those clean sheets in the Premier League that campaign.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen already has 25 to his name this campaign. Barcelona still have four games left to play in La Liga – Real Sociedad, Real Valladolid, Real Mallorca, and Celta Vigo.
