'You can't keep a player who doesn't want to be there': West Ham chairman confirms Declan Rice's exit

Speaking to talkSPORT, West Ham chairman David Sullivan said: "I think it has to be [Declan Rice's last match for West Ham]. We promised him he could go.

"He set his heart on going. You can't ask for a man who has committed more to us this season. In due course, he has to get on and we have to replace him.

"It's not something we want. We offered him £200,000-per-week. He turned it down. He wants to go. You can't keep a player who doesn't want to be there."

Rice captained West Ham in their historic 2–1 win against Serie A side Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday night.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are all interested in the 24-year-old with the Gunners believed to be leading the race to sign the England midfielder.
