Jackson 6, Mudryk 2: Rating Chelsea players in Spurs win

Chelsea defeated Spurs 4-1 thanks to a Cole Palmer penalty and a hat-trick from Nicolas Jackson. However, the opposition were playing with nine men for a large part of the game and the Blues scored two goals in added time. It wasn't an easy game at all.

Sterling: 7.5. The most creative player on the pitch with his movement and crosses for Jackson. Should have had like five assists, got only one.

Gallagher: 7. A typical Galla-dawg performance, tried to get as involved as possible. Gave the ball away often but forced as many turnovers from the opposition with his relentless pressing. Lovely pass for Jackson for the third goal.

James: 7. Reecey is finally back with his overlapping runs and inviting crosses. Not as decisive as we would have liked but it's his second start after a lengthy injury after all.

Caicedo: 6.5. Scored a beautiful goal with an emphatic finish but it was disallowed on VAR. Lost some duels defensively but gradually grew into the game and took control of the midfield.

Enzo: 6.5. Sprayed his long-term passes like prime Andrea Pirlo but was occasionally found out in physical battles.

Jackson: 6. It's weird to rate a player who bagged a hat-trick this low but Nico has been poor for a large part of the game. He managed to get it right in the end and we're thankful for that but his misses were so frustrating.

Jackson should have buried that chance early in the first half — and the one shortly after the Udogie red card. Can't really count the number of chances he wasted — if anything, he should have had ten goals, not three.

Sanchez: 6. A couple of nice saves in the first half and good one on Son late in the game but his distribution raises questions. Can't claim a cross for life.

Disasi: 6. Good in the air but gave fans a heart attack in the middle of the first half with his reckless passes.

Palmer: 6. Ice-cold for the penalty, good passes in the first half but went into invisible mode after the break. Zero positive actions in the second half.

Cucurella: 5. Scoring is not his job but he really should have buried that one chance after the hour's mark.

Colwill: 3. Could have done much better with the Spurs opener, giving Kulusevski all the time and space in the world to get a shot instead of getting tight on him. Struggled a lot at the back and got into an absolutely unnecessary scruffle with Sarr in the added time to the first half. Smart from Poch to take him off at the interval.

Mudryk: 2. Fans expected Misha to be the solution to Chelsea's scoring issue as Tottenham's high line seemed perfect for his pace. The forward was a part of the problem instead, getting caught offside all the time.

Others: Thiago SIlva 6.5, Ugochukwu & Gusto N/A
