Chelsea are finally planning to use their multi-club model to their full advantage as Strasbourg are planning to spend on young players on the Blues' long list, the Evening Standard reports.
One of the players targeted by the French side is Valentin Barco, a 19-year-old who broke through at Boca Juniors this year and started the Copa Libertadores final last month.
The 19-year-old is an Argentina youth international who can play in various positions on the left side of the pitch.
Barco's transfer in January is a serious possibility. He is also targeted by Manchester City and Brighton who also have multi-club models.
With Chelsea's transfer activity limited by a ₤1bn spending in the past year — and more prescient needs elsewhere — it's fitting that Strasbourg have the budget of £22m for such transfers in January.
