Cole Palmer confirms Chelsea objective for the final games

Last week, it was reported that the Chelsea hierarchy would not be happy with a seventh-place finish, demanding instead that the Blues qualify for the Europa League.

Now, this is confirmed by the team's best and most important player this season.

"We have two tough games and everything to fight for to get sixth place – which is our goal", Cole Palmer told the official Chelsea website.

"Hopefully, we can get there and Chelsea as a football club can get back into Europe.

"It was a big win and we needed to win and to get three points. After going behind it’s great to get three points," he added, speaking after the 3-2 comeback win over Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea are currently behind Newcastle on goal difference alone. The Magpies have a 10-goal swing in their advantage, though, which is hard to overcome in two games.

It means that Chelsea need to win more points than Newcastle in the remaining matches. The Blues are playing Brighton and Bournemouth, while Newcastle face Man United and Brentford.
